for over five years, all day i dream has been where deep and emotive meet house music. propelled by a community of forward thinking artists drawn around the scion of master curator and sunset/sunrise set specialist, lee burridge. all day i dream formally welcomes lost desert to the label with the release of lingala, a two-track collaborative effort with burridge himself, that also features junior on vocals. lost desert was picked out of obscurity after burridge discovered his music while trekking in a remote area of a long lost land. a fast forged friendship inevitably lead to the studio, and lingala’s the enrapturing sophomore result. the duo’s first project together debuted on lee’s night time imprint, get weird, earlier this year to widespread support. lingala, is a beautifully composed ten-minute sonic journey. built around a mystical lead vocal sung by newcomer junior in his native linagles the raw emotion slowly builds in intensity over propulsive basslines and deep melodic grooves . gorje hewek & izhevski’s interpretation of lingala is a markedly different affair. focussing on musical layers rather than the vocal the duo’s signature spacey atmospheres and minimal rhythmic percussion add extra strings creating uplifting moments that contrast the original’s mood.

as part of our 10 years anniversary mukatsuku is proud to release the holy grail instrumental long version co produced by tommy stewart of “brotherson” from atlanta usa resident ojeda penn.
there were two versions of the album “happiness” on the ife independent label. they looked almost identical but the first version contained the now rarer elongated jazz fused instrumental version of “brotherson” and then a few months later they recut the album with a much shorter version adding strings and vocals.
the former version is now being sold up to £500 so this 12” is a welcome release to the reissue market. according to mr penn this is the first time either version has been reissued officially and mukatsuku after many years of discussion is glad to finally be in a position to finally put out both versions on one phat 12”.

alex suarez is part of a new breed of producers based out of brooklyn carving out their own unique sound experimenting in the world of raw primordial electronics. under the name cienfuegos, he has prior releases on brooklyn s primitive languages imprint as well as the france s unknown precept label-with his new -lost in god s country- ep we see him debut on the new york centered bank records. through the four tracks cienfuegos harkens back to the time of early industrial music, not far off from the early transmissions of spk or even hinting at sounds akin to e.g. oblique graph. suarez has a knack for developing textures and tension in his music sewing it all together with plodding rhythms and the occasional creeper vocal. heavyweight stuff coming most highly recommended.

new emmanuel top label. lost in berlin is a mechanical angry monster with multiple arms that swings around for destruction. it’s unstoppable for words, you have to accept the fact that you have been hit by a concrete wall. what i love in records is the menace inside it that builds up. the impossible energy that drags you in to this tunnel of a white dimension with grey electric colors. bipolaire: it all starts with a kick, not a simple kick but a et kick and before you know it you are struck by lightning. the subs are playing with you, simple but again with atomic temperature. the acid sound that hits you is never going to surrender his inferior temper. capture: only that words remind me of the spirit capture and it’s not easy make an equivalent of the original that is not even made with the inspiration of the mod wheel. it’s not just a wicked intro that can take you to different roads. you can decide what way you will take but be careful with what comes next.

not too long ago a jiffy bag arrived at parkwest hq. in it was a scratched tdk case with a sa-x tape containing a musical message from years past, simply marked the tape i lost! we sat and listened, able to pinpoint influence and reference but yet hearing something totally new. that this tape surfaced and made it across the years and the miles to us was fortunate. when the synth part came through clear on a later version on the tape, allowing us to remix then it became destiny. emotion, melody and rhythm will always be timeless and these tracks, selected from that tape, are as relevant today as they ever were.
